A Classical Occasion are experienced musicians classically trained in Australia and abroad. The ensemble play at weddings, engagement parties, corporate functions, funerals, celebrations and any other occasion where magnificent music is required. Our repertoire includes a range of classical and contemporary music and clients are welcome to request new repertoire to suit their event.
A Classical Occasion can be booked with any combination of the flute, voice, piano, violin and cello as a duo (from $800), trio (from $1100) or quartet (from $1400). Please refer to the price list for more detailed pricing information.

Weddings
A wedding is often one of the biggest days in a person’s life; it deserves to be marked by music that is extraordinary.
A Classical Occasion specialises in beautiful and exquisite music for your special day.
Please note:
- A Classical Occasion employs a one wedding per day policy. This enables us to focus on your special day only.
- The minimum playing time for a wedding is 1½ hours. This includes ½ hour of music before the official start time of the service and music throughout the ceremony.
- We understand that things do not always go according to plan, especially at weddings. Therefore, there are no additional charges for a late bride.
- There are some restrictions regarding venues (no beach weddings) and performance conditions (shade and shelter must be provided). Please refer to our Terms & Conditions for further information.
Funerals
Why have live music at a funeral? Although recorded music is certainly better than no music, the benefits of live music are irreplaceable. Live music lends dignity and atmosphere to the service and make it unique and personal for the person whose life is being celebrated. A beautiful piece of music during a funeral provides an essential moment for every individual to say goodbye.
A Classical Occasion has had much experience playing at funerals and is familiar with hymns, worship music and sacred songs. The group also has many appropriate pieces that can be performed throughout the service if suggestions are needed. The ensemble encourages people to choose at least one song or piece of music that is significant to the family or the deceased to be played at the funeral.
The ensemble is available to play at funeral home chapels, religious places of worship, cemetery chapels, gravesides and at home. The group is also available for wakes following the service.
Functions & Special Events
A Classical Occasion can perform at birthdays, dinner parties, corporate events, cocktail parties, christenings, Christmas parties and any other event.
The ensemble can play for a minimum of 1 hour and for a maximum of 5 hours. There are some requirements and conditions regarding our performances (breaks, sufficient light and shelter if outdoors). Please refer to our Terms & Conditions for further information.
